WAR IS HELL
This photography was taken by Oded Balilty, an Israeli photographer who is widely known for documenting the Israeli-Palestine war and Israeli social and environmental problems. He began his career in 2002 as a photographer for the newspaper Maariv, in the Palestinian Intifada. Five years later he would go on to win a Pulitzer. The photography was taken during an evacuation in Palestine, the whole event was about illegal settlements and houses made by Jewish people.
Talal Abu Rahma, a Palestinian television cameraman freelancing for France 2, took the photo on 30 September 2000 c. 15:00, in Netzarim junction, Gaza Strip, Palestine. The Israeli military and Palestinian security forces were fighting and Muhammad al-Durrah and his father were caught in the crossfire. Then there was a burst of gunfire and a second later, the father is shown slumping and he is finally dead. The Israeli Defence Forces accepted responsibility for the shooting at first, but they said that Palestine used children as human shields.
A one day on 29 October, 2000 in Karni Crossing, in the Gaza Strip, Laurent Rebours, a photojournalist from the Associated Press, took a photo of a child throwing stones to an Israeli tank. There is no information of Laurent Rebours. In the photo we can see a boy whose name is Faris Odeh, he is throwing stones to an Israeli tank, Odeh dies 10 days later while he is throwing stones to a tank, the Israeli soldiers shoot him in the neck.
in the picture we can see that they are in a hot house, the houses are all stone at the two corners there are two white cars in the car on the right you can see the make of the car which is KIA, where the soldiers are also there is a citizen who seems to be trying to help but he can not, the soldiers are wearing green uniforms with brown boots
and lastly the one they are beating but he can't do anything.
A woman wearing a skirt and a jacket, as protagonist of the picture. Cops wearing riot gear and shields, being the antagonists. The woman must be living in one of those settlements, and the cops mut be there to destroy them. The cops must be holding clubs and weapons while the Jews must be unarmed and throwing rocks. The woman could have her family living there, the cops could be armed with guns. The woman must be feeling angry as for her, the situation must be outrageous. The cops might not like destroying settlements as they could ruin lives and families.
A kid, crying. A father protecting him from death. In the background we can see a wall of bricks, on the father’s left there’s a water deposit that had been used for protection. The father and the boy may be protesting for the Israeli occupation. They must be taking cover because the Israeli troops were shooting at them. The kid is about to die because for the Israeli government he is a terrorist. The photographer must have been very shocked because he was filming a father and his kid dying and he couldn’t do anything.
Suffering, Is something that no one thinks about but, for the Palestinian people, it’s something that happens every single day, the people suffer in the war but they stay brave like the child who, one day, proved that brave is essential to survive and he demonstrated that not all the people are afraid.
In this image we can see 5 Israeli soldiers beating a Palestinian citizen because of the war. This happened in Hebron (Palestine) on September 20, 2016 and no one can do anything to stop the 5 soldiers.
